Costa Blanca: I love Benidorm
San Jose Airport in Costa Rica
Hey Everyone, michael alan DAngelo and Costa Rica from the Travel Channel. We went to Juan Santamaria International Airport San Jose Airport aka (so do not be confused) and made a little video so you would know what to expect when you fly into Costa Rica. Sometimes, this airport can be quite intimidating, especially during high season (May-April). If you made it to La Fortuna, home of the Arenal Volcano, stop by, but do not forget the Cacique. Every country seems to have their own set of requirements when traveling ‘in’ and ‘out,’ and Costa Rica is no exception. The good news is, the requirements are fairly basic, as it’s quite easy to get in and out of the San Jose airport (Juan Santamaria International Airport) – with the possible exception of ‘time’. There ARE frequent instances of waiting a few hours in various lines, Negotiable. Flying into Liberia’s Daniel Oduber International Airport, located in the Guanacaste region is just a bit easier and less crowded than its older brother, Juan Santamaria Airport. But, if you are interested in Costa Rica travel, then you should probably take a look at this important information concerning entry and departure requirements even if you’re a seasoned traveler. The Costa Rica Travel Channel thinks it’s a good idea to remind you of things you may have forgotten you know. Things have changed and a drivers license and birth certificate will NOT get you into Costa Rica. YOU MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT that will not expire within six months . . . B>
La Fortuna Costa Rica
Hey everyone, DAngelo and michael alan from the Costa Rica Travel Channel. We live in La Fortuna, right next to the Arenal Volcano. I can not think of two better guys to show you around. So check it out and see why we live here. The canopy tours, rafting, rappelling, hiking and Chata Cerro Fortuna Falls, biking, flora and fauna have nothing to do with it. . . hehe. If you’re ever in the area, by all means, stop in and bring the Cacique. Lying at the eastern foot of the spectacular, Volcan Areanl, is the charming little tourist town (about 7500) of La Fortuna. Recently this town has become quite the destination for volcano watchers from around the world. La Fortuna is the entry point to the road that connects the Arenal Volcano area to Lake Arenal and continuing on into Guanacaste. The magnificent Arenal Volcano is basically what put the former little farming town of La Fortuna on any visitors to Costa Rica map, and prior to 1968, it was a Solely agricultural town. Now it is one the premier tourist destinations in Costa Rica. The history of La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano have been connected since it reared Volcan Arenal massive head and awoke after a 400 year slumber and erupted violently in 1968 with the largest eruption in its recent history. It had been dormant so long it was thought by the locals to be a mere mountain. Actually, Arenal is an almost perfect cone, soaring 1633 meters above sea level and has a crater 140 meters deep formed over an ancient caldera. The . . . B>

Samara, Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica
TravelCostaRicaNOW. com Hey everyone! We spent a few days down in Samara is located on the Nicoya Which Peninsula. Samara is one VERY BIG BEACH and definitely the definition of a beach town. Taking in the sun and water adventures during the day and partying at night. Great restaurants, intimate little bars on the beach where you can share a cocktail and the sunset with that special someone but, that club-like party bars to drink and party until the wee-hours. Playa Samara is a long-wide beach on a curved horseshoe-shape bay. Unlike many other beaches along the Pacific coast, the water is calm and great for swimming and other water adventures like snorkeling and fishing and it’s even a great place to ‘beginner surf’. Playa Samara is popular with the Ticos and can often get quite lively on the weekends and special holidays, but since the beach is so BIG, it all seems to work. The calm waters and steep cliffs on the far side of the bay make this a very seductive, spot, and do not forget Playa Carrillo, 5 kms away, so a great little beach.
